Periareolar

What is Periareolar?

Periareolar top surgery, also known as periareolar mastectomy, is gender-affirming chest surgery procedure primarily performed on transgender men or non-binary individuals assigned female at birth who have small to moderate-sized chests with minimal excess breast tissue.

During periareolar top surgery, Mr Sterne makes a small incision around the edge of the areola, through which breast tissue and fat is removed. This technique is often preferred for individuals with minimal chest tissue as it typically results in minimal scarring.
